Position Description:
Associate Director Facilities & Engineering
The West Coast Facility Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering team provides service delivery and solutions, serving our Company's strategic research and discovery facilities by managing the execution and delivery of key maintenance functions, utility assurance and facility management; by identifying and executing efficient and effective solutions which meet the requirements of the Company.
This position reports to the Director, Engineering West Coast.
Basic Function:
Drive excellence and manage day-to-day operations of both hard and soft services, whether directly or indirectly through IFM partners, to enable business goals.
Primary activities include but are not limited to:
Oversight and management of electrical, mechanical, plumbing systems such as HVAC systems, lighting, fire safety systems, and specialty utilities systems such as Liquid Nitrogen, Helium gas, Hydrogen gas, among others.
Oversight and management of Gas, plumbing, and heating, HVAC systems, lighting, electrical, and mechanical, fire safety systems, building maintenance work, specialty utilities systems such as Liquid Nitrogen, Helium gas, Hydrogen gas, etc.
grounds maintenance, Landscaping, cleaning services, pest control, waste management, parking.
Participates the Identification and execution of engineering and site improvement studies to support master planning.
Providing technical expertise in the investigation of complex technical problems and develops innovative solutions using current and new technologies or approaches.
Taking ownership and drive implementation of company standards, priorities, and IFM providers’ compliance with SLAs and KPIs while aligning with Global Workplace and Enterprise Services (GWES) priorities.
Consulting with stakeholders and provide technical expertise to solve complex operational issues.
Evaluating facility fit and cost for new projects / processes and develops estimates for any required modifications or additional equipment loads.
Managing lab equipment onboarding/offboarding
Developing and execute policies, procedures, programs, and budgets to assure effective maintenance of all facilities and equipment.
Serving as the safety champion and driving safety in the workplace, including but not limited to identifying preventable safety incidents, maintain a 5S working area, and supporting of the organizations Safe by Choice Program to drive Target Zero.
Collaborating with the landlord as needed for maintenance and addressing issues.
Position Qualifications:
Education Minimum Requirement:
Highschool diploma with a minimum of 10 years of Maintenance/Engineering/Facilities experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 7 years of Maintenance/Engineering/Facilities experience
Required Experience and Skills:
An understanding of maintenance processes, systems, and compliance

Preferred Experience and Skills:
MS or higher Engineering or applicable science with a minimum of 5 years of Maintenance/Engineering/Facilities experience
