About this role 

Carrier Commercial Service has an opening for an Associate Director, Data Center Service Execution.  This is an exciting opportunity to lead the implementation of the Data Center strategy within the Carrier Commercial Services (CCS) business. 

 

In this new role, you will be responsible for start-up readiness at strategic customer locations.  This is a high impact, strategically important role dedicated to ensuring flawless execution of newly delivered product, above and beyond performance to customer SLA’s and stage-setting for long-term maintenance agreements. 

 

The ideal candidate will have both strategic and tactical capabilities, including demonstrated project management skills, field service staff hiring and leadership experience and a proven ability to deliver results in a highly matrixed organization. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a readiness assessment for field service support of data center strategic customers utilizing established criteria. 

  • Identify and scope keys gaps in CCS’ ability to execute the Data Center strategy and establish master level project plan to address gaps. 

  • Create a full lifecycle project plan for each gap area, ensuring proper scope, resource requirements, etc. 

  • Execute to the project plan, ensuring on time delivery, within scope, and within budget. 

  • Hire and oversee a team of field service technicians dedicated to conducting start-up & commissioning. 

  • Ensure flawless execution of start-up and commissioning at customer locations. 

  • Meet customer performance expectations, resolving issues and escalating to senior leadership when appropriate 

  • Function as single point of contact / data center expert within CCS. 

  • Ensure stakeholder alignment with both CCS leadership and customer program office. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • 8+ years’ experience in direct or indirect leadership roles in operations, sales, aftermarket, strategy, or general management 

  • 40% travel required 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and/or learning agility. 

  • Demonstrated experience leading and executing complex projects. 

  • Experience supervising field service technicians. 

  • Deep experience in field service. 

  • Strong ability to lead and develop diverse, cross-functional project teams to achieve high levels of performance in a dynamic, changing environment. 

  • Proven ability to lead large programs, executing with speed and exhibiting a bias for action. 

  • Proven ability to manage teams without formal authority through influence and relationships.
