The Advanced Products and Solutions (APS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has a challenging opportunity for an Associate Director, Contracts within the Electro-optical Infrared Solutions Global Army and Navy (EOIRS GAN) business area. This role demands a multi-faceted, strategic Contracts Leader to deal with complex and creative solutions to support US Government, commercial and foreign customers across a broad technology portfolio with development, low rate, and high production contracts. The Candidate selected for this role will manage a large team of managers and individual contributors.
The successful candidate’s attributes should include but are not limited to direct supervisory responsibilities, strong experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplemental (DFARS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) terms and conditions risk assessment and negotiations, understanding the implications of international work, strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, subject matter expertise in general contracting, and be able to provide contractual and business guidance to the Program Management Leadership.
What You Will Do
Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and influence business decisions
Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying astute critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking innovative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholders
Provide strategic advice and guidance on numerous contractual rights/obligations, regulations, and policy/procedure to mitigate risks and unauthorized changes
Develop pre-negotiation objectives and implement negotiation strategy reviews as part of the proposal development process
Lead complex negotiations with foreign customers that may require international travel.
Ability to represent Raytheon independently on significant transactions while developing and maintaining trusting relationships with complex customers
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
Experience with FAR and DFARS
Experience in the development of proposals, which may include researching, fact-finding and negotiations
Qualifications We Prefer
Demonstrated ability to shape results in support of objectives, including ability to communicate and influence executive leadership
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with complex customers
Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and develop effective relationships based on respect and trust
Excellent time management and organizational skills are essential
