Raytheon’s Legal, Contracts and Compliance organization is seeking a skilled transactions lawyer to serve as Associate Director and Counsel, Strategy & Transactions.
In this role, the Associate Director will work with partners across the enterprise to apply your business savvy, legal acumen, transactional skill set, and passion for Raytheon’s mission in support of complex transactions and initiatives spearheaded by Raytheon’s strategy organization and business units.
What You Will Do
Provide life-cycle legal support for strategic initiatives and transactions undertaken by Raytheon’s business units and strategy organization
- Partner with frontline business leaders and lead cross-functional / cross-discipline teams in the structuring and implementation of strategic initiatives and transactions. Review, draft, negotiate and advise on transaction documentation
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and a strong working knowledge of a range of specialized matters of critical importance to Raytheon and RTX, including intellectual property, global trade, ethics and anti-corruption, supply chain / procurement processes, product safety, and data privacy
- Provide ongoing advice and counsel in connection with post-transaction matters
- Provide regulatory / Antitrust compliance advice and counsel in connection with a wide range of strategic activities, initiatives and transactions
- Coordinate and / or provide regulatory compliance training and guidance to business teams operating on the front lines of the business
- Consult with and / or lead outside counsel engagements on a range of transactional and regulatory matters, when and as needed
- Provide business unit level support for transactional and regulatory activities led by RTX’s corporate office
- Exercise highest ethical standards and champion commitment to organizational integrity
- Periodic moderate travel will be required, averaging approximately 10-15% annually. Travel may vary by project needs or season.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a cumulative 10 years of prior relevant experience in supporting complex business transactional and regulatory matters
- Law degree (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
- Experience analyzing, negotiating, drafting and advising on a wide range of legal, commercial and / or operational issues and considerations
Qualifications We Prefer
- 5-7 years of experience practicing as an attorney
- Passion for and commitment to the mission of Raytheon and our customers, and enthusiasm for collaboration with stakeholders and contributors from across the enterprise
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to quickly understand, communicate, and converse on a wide range of commercial and operational matters
- Proactive with strong intrinsic motivation and high degree of ownership, energy, and curiosity
- Well-organized with meticulous attention to detail and strong project management skills
