What is the Opportunity?

We are seeking a Credit Derivatives Trade Support Associate with 3-5 years of trade support / financial institution experience and a strong interest in financial markets to help provide support to the New York Market Making Desk as we strive to provide best-in-class trade execution to RBC’s investment clients. In this role, you will focus on supporting the New York desk.

What will you do?

  • Day-to-day emphasis on the support and automation of complex transactions in the North American Credit Derivative product family (Single Name CDS, CDX IG/HY, CDX Swaptions), rates derivatives and equity derivative hedging – where product proficiency is required to interpret economics, understand guidelines, and develop processes.
  • Robust understanding of macroeconomic market trends in the credit space and leading factors to credit index, options, and single name movement.
  • Monitor risk, screen trading activity, enhance ticketing, and scrutinize all positions to ensure they are booked accurately / flowing downstream as expected.
  • Lead development to enhance existing procedures to recognize potential risk areas and prevent trade or operational errors.
  • Work directly to support and learn from the Trading Desk with years of industry expertise.
  • Maintain client relationships; ability to relay information to & from trading counterparties quickly and accurately.
  • Act as main liaison between Front Office and Legal, Regulatory Reporting, Technology, Settlements and Back Office teams to resolve any trade booking and settlement issues.
  • Utilize Bloomberg terminal to monitor positions, PnL, trade details, and communication with desk.

  • Ability to develop relationship cooperatively with all levels of the team.
  • FINRA Registrations: SIE & Series 99 and/or SIE & Series 7/Series 63 (to be completed within 90 days if absent)

Suggested Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with Credit Derivative products and the resulting trade life-cycle processes – i.e. Credit Events, Succession Events, CDX Option Exercise, Novation’s, Terminations, Clearing, etc.
  • Knowledge or Regulatory Requirements within derivative trading landscape – i.e. Dodd Frank, EMIR, MiFID II, PTMM, etc.
  • Techincal Proficiency in financial systems and exchanges: Bloomberg Terminal, Murex, DTCC TradeServ, ICE Clear Credit, LCH CDSClear

The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
