About the role
We are looking for a talented and experienced attorney to support Amazon Books. Our work is intellectually challenging, exciting, and fast-paced. Developing innovative solutions to novel legal questions is part of our daily work.
You will serve as the primary lawyer responsible for counseling the businesses on a broad range of legal areas, including physical and digital consumer products and services; privacy and other regulatory matters; and product launches. You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating complex, high value agreements. You will also provide ongoing legal counsel and contract interpretation for senior executives and other business team members.
Written and verbal fluency in Spanish is preferred. Some travel, both domestic and international, will be required.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Seattle, WA, USA
- 2+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in private practice or in house experience at a technology company or equivalent
- Experience in web services/cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
