About the Role
The New York Times is looking for an Associate Content Producer for Games to support its fast-growing subscription games portfolio that includes Crosswords, Spelling Bee, Wordle, Connections and new games in development. This role is based in New York.
This is an opportunity to work on games that people love: The New York Times Crossword is a unique brand, with an 80-year history and regarded as one of the pre-eminent puzzles on the planet. In the last years, we have expanded our puzzle offerings into new games, building on our legacy of creating smart puzzles.
Responsibilities:
You'll be part of a fast-growing and independent team at The New York Times. You'll have the chance to shape how we make games, by supporting our editorial team and shepherding new features through all stages of development. You will inspire and motivate the team to achieve its goals.

Produce the print and digital versions of the daily crossword.

Support the production of Wordle, Connections, and the Mini.

Track editorial feedback and proactively identify product/process improvements.

Manage the games publication schedule.

Process and manage freelancer contracts.

Facilitate communication with contractors and testers.

Support production across Games Platform Group.

Collaborate with cross-disciplinary partners, including Product, Design, Engineering and Editorial, to produce new features and editorial tools.

Cultivate a healthy culture of curiosity, communication, collaboration, and inclusiveness.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Experience in a production or operational role, such as Production Coordinator, Executive Assistant, or Assistant Producer, in a consumer-facing field such as games, entertainment, or media.

Experience managing schedules and project workflows.

Basic experience with product development.
Preferred Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of journalism ethics and standards.

Passionate about games and game development.

Proficient in SaaS-based collaboration tools required to lead modern game teams, including JIRA and more.
