Job Summary:
BECS, a Lerch Bates Company, is seeking an Associate Consultant to join our team! The Associate Consultant is responsible for identifying, planning, directing, and overseeing all aspects of BECS projects. This role will primarily oversee multiple projects and provide solutions and recommendations to clients. Acts as technical liaison on matters pertaining to the field of practice; applies advanced techniques, modifications, and theories. and a high degree of discretion and judgment. What You’ll Do:
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed in this position. They are not intended to prescribe or restrict the assignments that management may make.
- Learn on the job from Consultants, Sr. Consultants, Technical and Area Directors, as well as other business partners and outside sources of industry knowledge, skills, and best practices to be able to work independently as a Consultant within two years. Responsibilities to be developed include:
- Direct client liaison and technical lead for building enclosure consulting and commissioning (BECx) services on both new construction and major renovation projects
- Performance of design/technical peer reviews of architectural drawings for water, thermal, air, and vapor control systems, to include consideration of: curtain walls, storefront systems, design of new wall systems, masonry restoration, integration of new walls/windows, etc.
- Attendance at design review meetings to discuss recommendations made to improve systems performance.
- Perform all of the other essential functions of a Consultant with varying degrees of assistance from others, including but not limited to:
- Collaborative participation at design, pre-construction, and construction phase meetings to discuss client and project team positions on reviewed documents; offer insightful evaluation and sound recommendations
