As a member of the Systems Engineering Team, the Associate Applications Engineer will support Regional Sales Managers and Sales Representatives on sizing, selection, energy savings calculations, and the application of equipment and controls.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Systems Engineering. This role is onsite and is based in Blauvelt, NY.

SCOPE OF POSITION

As a member of the Systems Engineering Team, the Associate Applications Engineer will support Regional Sales Managers and Sales Representatives on sizing, selection, energy savings calculations, and the application of equipment and controls. 


This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Systems Engineering. This role is onsite and is based in Blauvelt, NY.

 

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides equipment operating parameters and supports accessory selection.
  • Performs necessary engineering calculations to support product selection and recommendations.
  • Stays current on platform products, competitor product offerings and other HVAC products to understand and explain key selling points and be able to help field engineering staff determine best match of equipment for optimum efficiency and system reliability; provides specification assistance.
  • Advocates energy efficiency and system affordability as key drivers of the daily business.
  • Maintains knowledge of plant's processes, techniques, tools, materials, machines and equipment.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends, developments and markets.
  • Models Watts business goals for quality and customer focus by successfully fulfilling the role of a functional team member
  • Models Watts business philosophy by demonstrating respect for coworkers on a daily basis. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by Sr. Manager, Systems Engineering or Company management.
  • Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency).

  • Travel Requirements: 0-5%

Required Qualifications

  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong customer service skills and orientation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Computer proficiency in MS office.
  • Computer proficiency in 3D modeling tools such as Auto CAD, Revit or SolidWorks.
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering
  • 0–1-year minimum work experience, as applicable.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including drug screen, and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, Marine.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish or French.
