About the role

Title:      Assistant Varsity Softball Coach 

Job Location:    Paw Paw High School  

Reports To:    Athletic Director  

Job Type:    2026/2027 Season Contract 

Minimum Qualifications:   

 Must possess high school diploma 

 Extensive experience playing softball

 First Aid/CPR Certified (prior to season) 

 Strong organizational skills  

 Must be able to work within a coordinated softball curriculum from youth � varsity level

 Strong personal/social skills, w/the ability to effectively communicate with High School Students 

Preferences:    

 Experience organizing/running practices  

 CAP 1 or CAP 2 Certification (prior to season)

 Possesses knowledge of the MHSAA softball rules and regulations 

 Willingness to build meaningful positive relationships with staff and student body 

 Possesses the ability to motivate players and coaches to work toward program philosophy/goals 

Job Description:   

 Carry out practice plans to build basic softball knowledge and age appropriate skill sets 

 Work within a program philosophy and curriculum that builds upon itself from grades 9-12 

 Be a productive and cohesive coach on a staff that works to develop all players from grades 9-12 

 Coordinate with youth softball programs and coaches to optimize youth opportunities 

 Teach and instruct the game of softball, while working to develop and emphasize positive    

character traits in all athletes  

Salary/Benefits:  Per VBCEA/PPEA, MEA-NEA contract Schedule C 

Start Date:  March, 2027
