The Learning Experience – Sterling, VA
Pay: $17–$20 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday | 8:30am–5:30pm
About the Role
The Learning Experience – Sterling is seeking a reliable and energetic Assistant Teacher / Floater to support our Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, flexibility, and working with children of different ages in a high-quality daycare and preschool environment.
As a floater, you will help keep the center running smoothly by supporting classrooms as needed and providing consistent, nurturing care throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Lead Teachers in maintaining safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classrooms
- Step into Infant, Toddler, and Preschool rooms as needed to support staffing and daily flow
- Assist with daily routines including meals, diapering/toileting, transitions, nap time, and activities
- Engage children in play-based learning, sensory activities, and group experiences
- Help maintain clean, organized, and welcoming classrooms
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
- Follow all Virginia childcare licensing and safety requirements

High school diploma or GED required

Previous childcare experience is required
- Experience in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood setting strongly preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable, flexible, and comfortable working in multiple classrooms
- Must meet all Virginia childcare licensing requirements
