What you get to do:
- Provide emergency and first aid care to guests and employees.
- Assist with overseeing in managing daily operations of the health services department, including staffing, scheduling changes, and resource allocation.
- Provide leadership and support to the EMT staff, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient service delivery.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination during emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate records of injury/illness reports, ensure that interventions are appropriate, and that follow ups are completed.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to uphold health and safety standards.
- Assist in developing and implementing curriculum for monthly in-service training.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and department manager.
What it takes to succeed:
- Must have current Texas State Certification for EMT-B, AEMT, EMT-P, or RN
- For NREMT: must be able to complete Texas reciprocity within 30 days of job offer.
- Must have or be able to complete BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of active clinical experience in an EMS system or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working around water and wildlife.
- Be able to carry a bag weighing approximately 35 pounds to all calls throughout the park, including up and down stairs.
- Be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Comfortable with heights.
- Comfortable with exposure to noise, vibrations and motion.
- Be able to train on and properly use protective equipment.
- Comfortable working around fumes/dust/odor.
- Comfortable working around chemicals.
- Be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and temperature extremes.
- Available to work varying shifts/hours and special assignments based on business needs, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, overnights, off-site assignments, weekends, and holidays.
What else is important:
- Prior experience with OSHA programs, vaccines and worker's compensation case management a plus
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs preferred.
- Emergency-based experience and triage skills are preferred.
- Possession of a valid state driver’s license required.
- At least 1 year of previous experience in healthcare management or supervision a plus.
- Have at least 1 year experience in Health Services in a theme park experience a plus.
