About the role

The Assistant Field Superintendent is responsible for managing all field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project while maintaining quality and protecting the Mosaic brand. The Assistant Field Superintendent supervises the foreman & field labor force, including laborers. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.  This position requires frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching. He/She must be able to navigate the job site and must comply with all company safety requirements in the office and on the job site. Heavy equipment may be used, and he/she needs to be able to lift heavy objects. This role is a great opportunity for a talented construction superintendent to join.


*The Assistant Superintendent must maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. 

In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for the planning, scheduling, implementation & coordination of quality-built homes from development through final construction on a timely & economical basis.

  • Involvement in managerial oversight of homes.

  • Oversee the scheduling, delivery & use of materials, the quality of construction, worker productivity & compliance with building/safety codes.

  • Maintain safe, clean, and compliant job sites.

  • Understand contracts, plans, construction methods & regulations.

  • Schedule and manage trade partner relationships in order to build homes on schedule and close on time.

  • Maintain communication with Project Manager, Project Engineer other Superintendents to help streamline inspections passed/ failed.

  • Complete homes with zero defects from property management and development team walkthroughs


Job Requirements:

  • Ability to establish good working relationships with a variety of people, including upper management, designers, sales, trade partners & customers.

  • Should be able to build rapport and maintain Customer satisfaction during the building process.

  • Must possess the ability to supervise effectively at all levels & with a variety of personalities.

  • Motivate trade partners to perform at a high level of competency.

  • Manage time effectively, multi-task & prioritize in order to meet established goals & deadlines.

  • Computer proficiency required.

  • Be decisive, flexible & work well under pressure when faced with unexpected situations or delays and in a very fast-paced environment.

  • Can analyze & resolve problems. Excellent organizational, leadership & communication skills.

  • Knowledge of construction practices and terminology. 

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction documents.

  • Attention to detail and persistence in follow up.

  • Strong sense of urgency.

Essential Skills:
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency

  • Knowledge of project management software programs (ITK/Marks)
