Position Summary:
This position serves a critical role in the development and growth of testing services to support registration of bio-pesticides, bio-stimulants, and bio-controls within the agriculture industry. This role will work with the Ecotoxicology, Residue and Environmental Fate teams to support regulatory testing for the agrochemical industry, supporting the fast-growing biologics sector of Agricultural Science.

Assistant Scientist I responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Carries out routine experiments and procedures in accordance with all applicable regulatory (e.g. DEA, EPA, FDA, FIFRA, OECD, etc.) requirements as defined by protocol, method, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conducts skill appropriate procedures with minimal supervision using laboratory equipment, computer resources, and institutional libraries.
- Collect and analyze biological data.
- Performs analysis, first level, and peer review of data for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepares data and reports of completed projects ensuring auditable quality for publication at completion of contracted work
- Provide guidance to technicians on the proper conduct of study assignments.
- May assist in preparation of data and final reports for completed projects or studies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess:
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or other directly related field or degree with comparable coursework in the above areas.
- PCR and ELISA experience desired
- In rare cases, comparable demonstrated competence and experience in the relevant area may be used to substitute in whole or in part for the Bachelor’s degree.
- Familiarity and/or experience in a laboratory setting.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Additional Information
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with additional hours required as needed.
