Job Duties
Western State Hospital is looking for a full time Assistant Programming Administrator to coordinate the delivery of PSR/Rehab services through assisting with the operational management of Webb, Harvest and Layman Learning Centers. This position will coordinate with the Learning Center (LC) Program Specialist I (PAS I)/Programming Administrator to ensure adequate staffing coverage, manage point of contact scheduling responsibilities, and to provide a safe and therapeutic milieu (including day of events, such as callouts) and communicating needs/changes as indicated; review PSR Learning Center guidelines for participation; coordinate transportation of clients to/from learning center and/or provide support for transportation as needed; and responsible for the timely scheduling of interventions as it pertains to LC schedule (accurate start/stop of group interventions, designation of group switch, etc.).
This position will also provide feedback and communication with clients, PSR staff, treatment teams, and service chiefs as indicated; assist with maintaining LC census data; coordinate purchasing, stocking and dispensing of items for assigned learning center and group material for facilitators. Keeping track of receipts and money and submit relative documentation monthly; provide 4 hours of group facilitation and plans interventions/activities per direction of supervisor/PAS II and/or LC Program Administrator II as needed; produce written evidence and data that PSR interventions have been carried out per facility/department protocol through utilization of HOPS database; and in the event supervisor is not available, will assume management role with supervision of Director of Rehab Services, or Service Chiefs.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED certification
- Extensive work experience within the psychosocial setting
- Considerable knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation programming logistics and operations
- Extensive experience utilizing a database to manage active treatment documentation
Additional Considerations
- Completion of bachelor’s level degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in areas such as sociology, human development, psychology, special education, nursing, rehabilitative sciences, behavioral health, or a closely related clinical degree
- Previous experience as a program administration specialist or similar work experience
- Supervisory experience
- Completion of Virginia Public Sector Leader Programs 1 and/or 2 (SystemLEAD)
- Bilingual
- Veteran or veteran spouse
