Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Middlebury College, MIDDLEBURY, VT -- The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track position in Mathematics beginning fall 2026. The department seeks applicants who will contribute to teaching our core major requirements in analysis and algebra and offer electives in areas such as complex analysis, representation theory, number theory, or logic that augment our curriculum in Mathematics. The successful candidate will advise, mentor, and teach courses at all levels of the curriculum, from our introductory calculus sequence to our senior offerings. Candidates who demonstrate a capacity to include undergraduates in their research program are especially encouraged to apply.
As part of a full teaching load, the candidate will also regularly contribute to Middlebury’s First Year Seminar Program and Winter Term course offerings, as described in our teaching load guidelines. All faculty at Middlebury are also expected to contribute to service to the College including, but not limited to, committee membership and serving as Director or Chair of a Program or Department when asked.
