Fairview Hospital’s Parkview Terrace is a 36-bed complex medical care, stroke care and epilepsy monitoring nursing unit that promotes the delivery of high-quality patient care through teamwork, communication and collaboration. As an Assistant Nurse Manager on this team, you will assist fellow RNs, physicians and medical staff in providing the best possible healthcare experience. Your work will mainly focus on evaluating patient condition, improving unit policies, managing caregiver schedules and welcoming new nurses to the team. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM—7:30AM or 11:00PM—7:30AM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Support the Nurse Manager with supervising and supporting RNs and other nursing support caregivers.
Supervise admissions, conduct assessment of patient's needs and initiate nursing care plans.
Evaluate and document patient progress.
Facilitate the planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs, initiatives and objectives for the unit.
Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
Serve as a liaison between the manager, caregivers and other areas within the organization.
Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit.
Prepare schedule of work assignments assuring adequate coverage.
