Job Description

Purpose of the Job

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable professional to join our Investor Services team as an Assistant Manager.

This is a key oversight and control role responsible for supporting the delivery and governance of the Client Due Diligence framework within Ocorian's Jersey-regulated funds business. Reporting to the Head of Investor Services, Jersey, you will act as a subject matter expert in AML/CFT and investor due diligence, providing guidance on investor onboarding, periodic reviews, and higher-risk investor relationships.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with Jersey regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards of risk management, and supporting colleagues across the Funds business with complex CDD matters.

Main Responsibilities

  • Review and perform CDD assessments for a variety of investor types, including simplified, standard, and high-risk investors and structures.
  • Conduct investor and client database checks to identify existing relationships and ensure accurate record management.
  • Review and prepare detailed ownership and structure charts, identifying controllers and Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs).
  • Identify any deficiencies in CDD documentation and work with Fund Administrators and stakeholders to obtain the required information.
  • Support investor screening activities and ensure all required checks and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Maintain and oversee the Investor CDD Tracker, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Provide technical support, coaching, and guidance to team members on CDD and AML/CFT matters.
  • Act as a point of escalation for more complex or higher-risk investor cases.
  • Deputise for the CDD Manager when required.
  • Liaise with Compliance, FATCA/CRS specialists, and wider business stakeholders to obtain guidance, approvals, and sign-off where necessary.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of local and international regulatory requirements, ensuring simplified, standard, and enhanced due diligence measures are applied appropriately.
  • Monitor and assess risk exposure, ensuring internal controls, review processes, and operational procedures are followed consistently.
  • Escalate significant risks, issues, or concerns to senior management and Directors where appropriate.
  • Support wider CDD, Investor Services, and Funds team initiatives as required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, controls, and service delivery across the function.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in CDD/KYC, AML/CFT, or a related compliance-focused role.
  • Experience within a funds, financial services, investment management, trust, or corporate services environment would be advantageous.
  • Professional qualifications or relevant certifications in AML, Compliance, Governance, or Financial Services are desirable but not essential.
