Playdium’s Assistant Kitchen Managers are an integral part of the team who provide an exceptional dining experience to each and every guest. The Assistant Kitchen Manager supports the culinary leadership team in the daily execution of culinary operations, by maintaining high quality menu execution and service levels. The Assistant Kitchen Manager leads culinary staff by exemplifying exceptional menu preparation and coaches culinary staff on the line. In this role, your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Manage culinary inventory by conducting inventory counts according to schedule, ensuring preparation and cooking stations are well stocked by ordering inventory and culinary supplies when required, and supported managing FIFO usage and stock depletion with culinary staff
- Ensured the safe storage and disposal of food and beverages and that any food returned to the culinary team is accounted for and disposed of, while maintaining an accurate log of food product waste
- Be a champion of health and safety by modelling seamless execution of the culinary program, ensuring healthy and safe work practices are showcased daily, ensuring all proper sanitation and preparation practices and procedures are executed, and notifying management of any repairs or maintenance required for culinary appliances and equipment.
Qualifications:

- You have a required Secondary School Diploma or GED
- You have a valid Food Handler’s certificate
- You have demonstrated ability to lead and direct a team
- You are aware of cost analysis, fiscal management, and budgeting techniques
- You can work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- You can respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
- You are a skilled communicator, comfortable interacting with employees, management and guests
- 1-3 years' culinary experience in the Hospitality or Restaurant industry preferred
- Post-Secondary diploma in Business Management, Culinary Arts or Hospitality considered an asset
- Smart Serve certification considered an asset
