Compensation includes a base salary of $129,000.00 - $215,100.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.Job Description
This position is responsible for managing Auction operations under supervision of the General Manager. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for attaining optimum efficiency and economy of Auction operations to maximize profits, while demonstrating leadership behaviors consistent with Cox Values.
Key Responsibilities:
People Leadership
- Work and communicate with department managers to achieve Auction sales and financial goals and objectives while maintaining an efficient operation.
- Foster open communication with Auction employees, and clearly communicate importance of team's vision, direction, and priorities. Seek and share information and use appropriate influence strategies to gain genuine commitment.
- Drive daily debrief meeting with all auction departments and participate in regular ops hyper care calls.
- Leverage the Empowered People Model and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.
- Oversee staffing plans and schedules; Ensure alignment to LDM practices and Workforce Management guidelines.
- Develop team members and identify learning/development opportunities.
- Connect and partner with other AGMs to harmonize efforts to drive success of the auction(s).
- Extend and support the Cox Culture. Service Excellence
- Engage with local clients to drive wallet share and client retention and share best practices.
- Resolve client issues within decision authority and escalate to GM when needed.
- Gain commitment for driving consistency through SOPs and actions on client feedback.
- Review and mitigate departmental performance against key performance indicators. Strategic Operations
Management
- Manage auction operations departments' people, processes, and projects.
- Follow up on market level support teams to evaluate and offer broad perspectives on operational efficiencies and opportunities.
- Develop and execute strategies and back up plans to maintain and/or improve real estate and facilities planning and mitigate acts of nature and DOT issues.
- Assist GM and collaborate with AGMs on overall management of Auction operations, development, and implementation of auction policies.
- Oversee lot, vehicle entry and flow of car activities across the auction.
- Assist in customer problem resolution during Sales day pre and post activities, and review arbitrations.
- Resolve client issues within decision authority and escalate to GM when needed.
- Analyze quality team reports, trends, and information from disparate sources to create efficiencies and improve customer experience.
- Manage shared business process functions (e.g., titles, DMV services) and provide status updates to applicable auction leadership.
- Provide input based on client feedback to reduce issue frequency.
- Review arbitrations.
- Support promotions, marketing, and key account outreach.
- Responsibility in collecting and consolidating feedback and providing to the Recon Ops team.
- Set a standard for recon staffing based on wholesale and retail volumes, auction footprint, and other key factors.
- Direct product and service pilots for recon/inspections and support product and service roll outs.
- Provide input to enhance service offerings and/or improve operations.
- Support Recon Ops team with deployments.
- Gather customer insights on recon services and use to implement corrective actions.
- Review any requests that are an exception or out of scope.
- Monitor client performance against SLAs and develop corrective actions as needed.
- Assist in customer problem resolution during Sales day pre and post activities.
- Manage vendor relationships and drive to performance expectations.
