POSITION: Assistant General Manager – Alcove by MadTree

LOCATION: Cincinnati, OH (OTR)

REPORTS TO: General Manager

COMPENSATION RANGE: $52,600 - $64,680

VARIABLE COMPENSATION: Up to $10,000 annually

POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant General Manager partners with the General Manager to drive operational excellence across all front and back-of-house operations. This role bridges strategic vision and daily execution, delivering exceptional guest experiences while developing team members and optimizing business performance. They will be an avid MadTree ambassador who lives the behaviors -- Connect, Grow, and Give a F*ck.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Ensure restaurant facilities are fully functioning on a daily basis, reporting issues that require attention to the General Manager.
• Assist in analyzing labor costs, food costs, and beverage costs to identify opportunities for improvement. Support the General Manager in achieving revenue targets and managing operating expenses.
• Serve as acting General Manager during GM's absence, with full authority to make decisions that maintain operational standards and address emerging issues. Work as a floor manager during assigned shifts to support service team members and ensure the highest levels of quality and service. Visit tables and interact with guests. Monitor proper front door procedures: seating and greeting guests to ensure effective control of the flow of our business. Assist in driving BOH execution through accountability, coaching, and development. Resolve team and/or guest issues through service recovery and implement change under direction of MadTree management when necessary.
• Participate in all restaurant personnel matters including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and coaching. Identify and develop high-potential team members, providing mentorship and growth opportunities. Conduct regular coaching sessions to improve service standards.
• Act as point person on-site for all performers, vendors, and team members during restaurant events.
• Conduct regular inventory counts to track and forecast supply needs for items including glassware, alcohol, cleaning supplies, gift cards, and retail items. Assist with food and perishable item inventory as needed.
• Manage restaurant technology systems including POS, scheduling, reservation platforms, and inventory management tools.
• Manage all cash handling including cash deposit
