We are looking for an Assistant Engineering & Facilities Operations Manager to join our Facilities and Engineering team.
The Assistant Engineering & Facilities Operations Manager assists the Engineering & Facilities Operations Manager with managing maintenance and landscaping functions, including operations, preventative maintenance, purchasing, troubleshooting, problem solving, and staff supervision. Assists with scheduling staff, planning daily work activities, and monitoring the work being done during each day throughout the entire resort. Ensures comprehensive departmental and resort-wide communication. Frequently communicates with Facilities management and resort leadership regarding progress, issues, or concerns. Understands that creating a positive and gracious guest experience is essential. Must be available for emergency calls during non-working hours. Maintains a calm demeanor when confronted with difficult situations.

Requirements
1. A minimum of seven years of resort or hotel maintenance experience, including at least three years supervisory experience.
2. Working knowledge including but not limited to general carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and/or electrical with specialized knowledge in several areas. Certifications in one or more of these areas.
3. Certified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO) Certificate a plus.
4. Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail on maintenance operations.
5. Extensive knowledge of the tools, methods and materials used in building maintenance work.
6. Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment, measure distance and calculate quantities, and read blueprints.
7. Ability to work independently and direct the work of others.
8. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
9. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, receive and give instructions, and prepare work orders and reports, including via the use of a computer or other device.
10. Ability to work respectfully and productively with all staff, maintaining a high degree of professionalism and camaraderie.
11. Punctuality, dependability, and flexibility are critical.
12. Ability to work under pressure with a high level of patience. Present a calm demeanor.
13. Stable and progressive work history; strong work ethic.
14. Ability to pass drivers background check, operate light to heavy machinery, vehicles, and equipment a plus.
15. High school diploma (or equivalent).
16. First Aid/AED Certificate (or willing to be trained.)
17. Must have reliable transportation; reliability and punctuality are critical.
18. Must be able to work flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, weekdays and holidays.
19. Ability to stand for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing up to 40 pounds.
20. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
