Duties and Responsibilities: 

Leadership
• Supports the recruitment of students for the dual enrollment program within the eight parishes of SLCC’s service area (Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Mary, St. Martin, and Vermilion Parishes).
• Supports initiatives aimed at retaining dual enrollment students to complete a programor degree after graduating high school.
• Supervise student employees.
• Collaborate with Director to provide direction and strategy for the expansion and innovation of DE pathways.
• Work jointly with the Director to maintain the department budget including purchasing of college swag, office supplies, and other materials to support DE.
• Serve as SoLaCC’s representative for all things Dual Enrollment.
• Aid in day-to-day operational efficiency.
• Communicate effectively to DE adjunct instructors, parents, students, counselors, and team members.

Compliance
• Works closely with the Office of Enrollment Management to detect and monitor enrollment trends in dual enrollment.
• Coordinates the monitoring of dually enrolled students and investigates and resolves issues for students.
• Stay up to date of Perkins updates, 2.0 pathways, DE funding sources including but not limited to SCA portal, tops tech, and workforce commission.
• Coordinate the updating of the SCA and BOR portals.
• Stays current with dual enrollment related policies and regulations and communicates these standards to SLCC offices and personnel.

External Relations
• Assist Director with cultivating new partnerships and maintaining existing partnerships between high schools across all eight parishes from the student/parent level to the CTE coordinators and Academic Directors.
• Maintains regular contact with area high school guidance counselors and other appropriate school district and LA DOE personnel via electronic communication and site visits.
• Establish relationships with appropriate community, business, and industry partners.
• Connect with relevant BESE and LA DOE personnel regarding academic transfer, technical, TOPS Tech Early Start, and Jump Start programming.
• In conjunction with the AVC of Academic Affairs and other designees, maintain relationships with the school boards and superintendents.
• Support with the management of the MOU processes with schools and districts.
• Aid the Director in working with state level partners to ensure SoLaCC compliance on all aspects of dual enrollment.
• Responsible for visiting once a year with each parish point of contact.
• Ensure DE faculty are properly credentialed, observed, and provided resources to teach DE classes to the rigor of a college class.
• Verification of department chair oversight for DE faculty.
• Provide ongoing customer service for students, parents and partnering schools in all eight parishes.
• Support the articulation and representation of the educational needs and intervention strategies related to equity-based access practices designed to increase the successful enrollment of a diverse student population.
• Tasked with conducting and assessing DE surveys.
• Assist the Office of Admissions with visits/questions from families regarding dual enrollment.

Event Planning
• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing outreach activities in schools to prepare middle and high school students to successfully pursue and complete post-secondary education, such as campus orientation days, parent-focused information sessions, presentations about the College's services and programs, classroom visits, and regularly scheduled career and parent night activities.
• Aid in the collaboration with the Office of Admissions to plan and execute the yearly counselor’s workshop.
• Transform ideas into physical spaces.
• Be strong at conveying messages and orders in a manner that appeals to everyone.
• Develop and market programs to high school administrators, and partnerships with home- schooling networks.
• Adapt to any new progressions, problems, or changes quickly, and always have a “Plan B” ready.

Collaboration
• Team up with the marketing department to create visual aids for distribution.
• Collaborate with Director to facilitate success-navigator visits in conjunction with Admissions and Campus Directors.
• Communicate with Deans to develop curriculum in support of dual enrollment focusing on short-term pathways, expansion of CTA academies, IBC pathways, and development of new initiatives in support of DE.
