Job Title: -- Assistant Director, Accounting

Job Summary: -- Assist the Senior Director, Accounting in the accounting for corporate and subsidiary transactions, including the preparation of various reports and analysis to summarize company business activity and financial position. In addition, this role shares responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the corporate accounting group, including the maintenance of the general ledger and the creation of annual departmental budgets. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -- 

      • Review monthly/ quarterly balance sheets and perform fluctuation analysis for the Company’s subsidiaries.
      • Prepare analysis for the Senior Director, Accounting, comparing consolidated quarterly results to prior year and budget.
      • Assist in preparation of various footnote disclosures for SEC filings (Form 10Q and 10K), including disclosures surrounding revenue recognition and remaining performance obligations.
      • Jointly responsible for overseeing the collection, review, and summarization of management representation letters/ financial statement certifications from each of the Company’s 90 subsidiaries.
      • Assist in preparation of financial sections within the Proxy Statement to Shareholders.
      • Assist the Senior Director, Accounting with various aspects of equity accounting under ASC 718 (including accounting for share based payments and stock repurchases)
      • Assist subsidiaries with the CoStar lease accounting application to ensure compliance with ASC 842, Leases.
      • Jointly responsible for maintaining the Company’s Multiemployer Pension Plan (MEPP) database, including the review of subsidiary submissions and the aggregation of data for disclosure in the Form 10K on an annual basis.
      • System administrator for corporate accounting application, jointly responsible for ten general ledgers.
      • Assist in overseeing the preparation and posting of all journal entries.
      • Assist in overseeing the preparation of inter-company statements, working with other corporate departments to ensure all inter-company transactions are properly supported and timely recorded.
      • Prepare/ review account analysis and account reconciliations for key financial statement accounts.
      • Co-manage corporate accounts payable/disbursement process, including weekly check run and annual 1099 preparation.
      • Lead the corporate budgeting/forecasting process, including maintaining the BudgetPak application and acting as a liaison to other corporate departments during the budget preparation process.
      • Assist in overseeing the accounting for fixed assets for the corporate office to ensure compliance with EMCOR policies.
      • System administrator for Concur application, responsible for overseeing the review of all corporate expenses reports and ensuring timely processing of reimbursements to employees.
      • Jointly responsible for interface of Treasury application with corporate accounting system.
      • Assist with internal and external audit processes, including providing of applicable accounting support to auditors
      • Assist in other areas within the department where needed, on an ad hoc basis, including the preparation of various presentations for internal/ external stakeholders.
      • Travel: Approximately 5%.

      Qualifications: --   

      • B.S./B.A. in Accounting or Finance.
      • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Accounting or Finance required.
      • Demonstrated ability to analyze and present complex financial data. Strong working knowledge of Excel required.
      • Experience with Accounting Systems, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets.
