About Construction Management - AECOM Tishman

Since 1898, AECOM Tishman has managed the construction of some of the world’s most iconic buildings. We employ a diversified preconstruction and construction management staff of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers; architects; technology specialists; scheduling and cost control personnel; and construction estimators and accountants. We provide expert consultation and guidance in all phases of a building project, from master-planning, preconstruction options evaluation and decision-making, to design review, estimating, and scheduling, through procurement, construction and occupancy. AECOM Tishman’s staff manages all consultants and contractors on a project, representing client interests throughout the project cycle. Job Description

AECOM/Tishman has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Construction Project Manager for one of our large projects in New York City.

• Under moderate supervision assists the Project Management team with management administration on a moderate size and scope project, or a portion of a large size and scope project, following set guidelines for completion of tasks.
• Employee receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by supervisor.
• Employee organizes and carries out most assignments in accordance with standard practices, instructions, or previous training.
• Employee handles some unusual situations independently.  
• May interface with design team.
• May work closely with BIM team and use modelling software.
• May interact with Superintendents to address project questions/issues.
• Assists with and monitors change orders.
• May assist with regulatory compliance and financial reporting.
• Review project costs and scheduling to ensure completion of project within budget and in conformance with contract.
• Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate.
•  Attend meetings and report on project tasks as needed.
• May provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

• BS Engineering and 2 years of relevant construction experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Requirements: 

• Master's degree in civil engineering or similar curriculum.
• Experience in contract documentation such as change orders, submittals, procurement, contract management, etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word. 
• Microsoft Project and BlueBeam.
• Experience in construction on a large infrastructure project.
• Offered rate of compensation (New York City only) will be based on individual education, qualification, experience and work location. The salary range for the position is $36.70/hr - $67.89 (non-exempt).
