Job Description

The Assistant Clinical Services Manager (ACSM), Professional Practitioners, is a member of the clinical leadership team, supporting the development of high performing interprofessional teams that contribute to clinical excellence and the delivery of safe, compassionate and evidence based care for patients/families/clients.

This position reports to the Clinical Services Manager (CSM) and works in partnership with program and practice leadership to ensure program goals and objectives are met, in alignment with the corporate strategic and clinical priorities plans. The Allied Health leadership team is responsible to and accountable for the clinical services provided by the inpatient Occupational Therapists (OTs), Physiotherapists (PTs), Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs), Physiotherapy Assistants (PTAs), Registered Dietitians (RDs), Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Communication Disorders Assistants (CDAs).

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree from a recognized program in a relevant health related discipline required
• Master’s Degree in a health discipline, health leadership or other health related field an asset
• Member in good standing of a Regulatory College from within the portfolio professions required
• At least 5 years of recent, related clinical experience required
• Recent related hospital based experience preferred
• Broad knowledge of the disciplines represented within the Allied Health department (OT, PT, RD, and SLP).
• Working knowledge of Regulatory College legislation, the Public Hospitals Act, Management Information System (MIS) Guidelines (workload units) and Ministry of Labour (Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety)
• Demonstrated management and leadership skills, including financial management, change leadership, and strategic planning skills
• Problem recognition and problem solving skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated team player with exceptional relationships across the organization
• Reputation as a consultative, collaborative, coaching and mentoring style of leadership
• Ability to establish positive relationships across disciplines/divisions/departments and programs
• Awareness of the Collective Agreements (CUPE)

Additional Information

Hours: Currently Days, 8 hours, Monday to Friday, including weekends and statutory holidays as needed (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
