Job Description

As our Assistant Accountant you’ll be responsible for month-end accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and supporting audits and regulatory submissions. Here you’ll manage intercompany invoicing, assisting with tax compliance activities, and collaborating with finance teams across regions to ensure smooth operations. 

To be successful in this role your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Perform month-end accounting processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts  

  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately  

  • Liaise with auditors by providing supporting documents and preparing draft financial statements  

  • Prepare intercompany invoicing and intercompany reconciliations  

  • Support the submission of financial information to regulatory bodies such as MDEC, MIDA, etc  

  • Assist in the submission of direct and indirect tax computations  

  • Manage employee credit card reconciliation  

  • Experience in fixed asset accounting is an added advantage  

  • Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements based on each country's regulations  

  • Work closely with the finance, project finance, and accounting teams in Australia and Malaysia  

 

Qualifications

  • A Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent  

  • 3+ years’ commercial experience in Accounting 

  • Ability to perform detailed reconciliations of accounts 

  • Sound knowledge of organisational accounting procedures 

  • Intermediate to Advance Excel skills  

  • Strong attention to detail 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and effective interpersonal skills
