Position Specific Description

This position manages the evaluation and acquisition of land and land rights (fee, lease, and easement) for power plant, service center, substation and corporate office sites in addition to transmission and pipeline right of way.  Territory of management covers portions of Broward and Palm Beach counties.  Conduct negotiations with landowners to ensure all necessary property rights are secured in sufficient time to prevent delay of projects.  Provide oversight / management of internal and external personnel to meet established objectives.  
Other responsibilities include:


•    Managing annual Capital budget / forecasting for territory
•    Performing asset protection activities related to processing of subordinations, easement releases, enforcement against encroachments on Company easements or owned properties.  
•    Performing construction liaison activities with landowners for Transmission, Construction or other groups as required.  
•    Perform budget estimates, forecasts and schedules for current and future projects

 

This position relies on strong negotiation skills, ability to multi-task, form effective relationships and work collaboratively within diverse skill sets.  Candidate must be able to work independently.  

Job Overview

This job is responsible for managing real estate acquisition and divestiture projects for the company. Employees in this job oversee real estate projects related to transmission line corridors, switching station sites, power plant sites, substations and other company real estate assets.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Plans, controls and directs real estate activities on behalf of the company
•   Evaluates potential real estate deals and provides recommendations
•   Oversees teams of contractors and staff on real estate projects spanning different locations
•   Represents the company at public meetings and planning and zoning board meetings for major real estate projects
•   Maintains budgets and project schedules to ensure timely and effective completion of real estate projects
•   Partners with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure project is completed timely
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


•  High School Grad / GED
•  Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
•  Experience:5+ years
