APQP Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

• PPAP Submittal Activity
• Customer Web Portals (Ford VPP Systems, General Motors PRR System Usage, etc.).
• Assist Senior Quality Engineer as necessary to support customer requirements
• PFMEA & Process control plan development and revision
• Participate in APQP meetings and Design Review activity
• Assist with corrective action follow-up/closure (including 8-D’s, 5-Whys, CAR’s, etc.)
• Interface with customers with the focus on PPAP review
• Occasional travel to customer and/or supplier plants for compliance and/or problem resolution assistance &/or verification
• Maintain PPAP Schedule
• Knowledge and practice of HAVS’s Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Policies & Procedural Requirements.

• Must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with other plant and office personnel. 
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Background automotive PPAP
• Ability to interface with HAVS’s Sales, Engineering, Production control, Program Management 
• Strong quality systems background

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma, some College preferred 
• 2-3 years of experience as a Quality Technician. 

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Need adequate math skills to understand Basic Statistics and GDT 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Software (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio) and statistical software

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and process several abstract and concrete variables.  Must be able to assess reasonableness of the analysis performed.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Driver’s License.

A Passport may be required for travel. 

ASQ Certification (such as CQE preferably,  and/or CQI and/or  CQT and/or CQA) is considered helpful.
