ZF CV Systems North America LLC has job openings for the position of Application Engineering Manager, E-mobility based out of its location in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

 

Job Duties:  Responsible to lead regional Engineering Group responsible for integrating Driveline Transmission Products into customer commercial vehicle applications (e.g., pick-up truck, truck, bus, specialty vehicles); Ensure customer vehicle system integration for ZF powertrain solutions; Interface with cross-functional teams (eg, Core R&D, Project Management, Quality, Plant Product Engineering); Develop, oversee processes for customer system application engineering support (requirements management, product specification, application investigations, system integration, customer technical release, customer communication & support, customer vehicle testing, PPAC/recall avoidance, development tool license support, customer issue investigations, plant launch support); Develop, oversee processes for customer controls engineering (Transmission embedded controls systems, vehicle CAN protocol development, function/feature development, software testing, calibration, and change management); Serve as point-of-contact for escalated issues related to Powertrain integration; Support development of eMobility Application Engineering organization for TT (Commercial Vehicle Transmission Technology) Product Line; Team Management inclu. hiring, people development, disciplinary coordination, budget & investment plan for department; and Lead regional activities surrounding technical competitive assessment inclu. research, direct product evaluation, and reporting. Position will require up to 25% total travel to domestic locations (e.g., customer meetings, technical discussions, production audits) and international locations (e.g., training, strategy workshops, leadership meetings). A hybrid (in-office and telecommute) work schedule is available.

 

Requirements:  Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field, plus 7 years of experience in Engineering occupations in the automotive industry, and demonstrated experience with: People and team management; Working with internationally-based teams; North American commercial vehicle market; Market and trend analysis; Driveline technologies; Emobility and electric drive experience; Project Management for engineering projects; Formal presentations to internal and external leadership; Maintaining project documentation; Transmission Mechanical Design; Change management; Product development and testing; Cost efficiency for process and product; and Global collaboration within engineering organization.
