Application Development Engineer

As an Application Development Engineer for Mexico and LATAM, you’ll provide hands-on technical support to customers, helping them optimize processes and implement polymer solutions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead plant trials, and support new product launches—playing a key role in driving innovation and business growth across the region.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Provide technical support to customers and the Sales Team to drive new business opportunities.
• Troubleshoot and optimize customer processes and product performance.
• Recommend design and process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Conduct plant trials, technical meetings, and certification support across Mexico and LATAM.
• Collaborate with the U.S. Application Development team on regional projects.
• Deliver technical presentations and training on extrusion, curing, and certification standards.
• Represent SACO AEI Polymers at industry conferences, expos, and academic initiatives.
• Support the ramp-up of our new compounding plant in Mexico.
• Work with Commercial and R&D teams to identify market needs and develop innovative solutions.

What You Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in application development with plastic materials and compounds.
• Strong knowledge of polymer extrusion processes and equipment.
• Experience in the wire-and-cable industry is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with flame-retardant chemistries and polymeric materials is a plus.
• Ability to interpret industry standards (UL, ANCE, IEC, ABNT).
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 25–50%.
• Proficient in English (Spanish is a strong plus).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Confident presenter with a professional demeanor.
