ANR - DevSecOps Cloud Engineer - FEMA

The Alaska Northstar Resources (ANR) team is currently searching for a DevSecOps Cloud Engineer for a long-term effort supporting a government agency program. This position will be 100% remote but could require onsite access and 5-10% travel.
The following job duties for this position are as follows, but will not be limited to:
- Identify and leverage best practices implementing the major cloud providers (GCP, Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), etc.).
- Utilize cloud tools (such as AWS CLI, CloudFormation, AWS-Roles) to standardize, secure, and automate infrastructure deployment and management activities.
- Deploy a multi-layer integrated system leveraging automation and containerization.
- Demonstrate and exercise operational rigor, documentation of steps, backup of artifacts, validation through unit testing and comparison, and restoration of changes.
- Participate in Agile team structure to develop and deploy architectural components and services, application code, integration capabilities, and patches and configuration changes.
- Provide strategic and engineering guidance to customer, program team, and project managers regarding technology evaluation, planning, and implementation.
- Develop technology roadmaps, providing technical advice, and develop solutions to address customer requirements.
- Conduct engineering sessions, develop and refine activity sequences and level of effort estimates for project managers as requested to develop project schedules.
Minimum Candidate Requirements
Candidate must have Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent field, or equivalent years of work experience in lieu of degree.
Candidate must have U.S. Citizenship, required by the contract.
Candidate must have an active PUBLIC TRUST clearance or ability to obtain and maintain NACI/Public Trust
Candidate must have 5+ years experience with the following
- Networking, infrastructure, and database engineering and operations
- Build, deployment, and release automation and orchestration
- Supporting enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) environments, including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing, such as Datadog and Splunk (or similar SIEM tool)
Candidate must have 1+ years' experience with the following:
- Automating system configurations and orchestrating network operations and DevSecOps pipelines, scaling, releases, and day-to-day system operations in Cloud environments
- Automation tools, including Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Provisioning and managing infrastructure as well as applications in Cloud environments including AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Identifying and implementing automation to improve user experience
- Scripting in Concourse, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby
- Open technologies, DevSecOps, and related Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform, Ansible, Git, and others (containerization including OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes)
- System integration using a variety of protocols, including XML, REST, and JSON
- Leveraging JSON, YAML, or XML for configuration
- DevOps and Agile methodologies
- Documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations preferred
Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- DoD Security Clearance
- Security+ CE certification or other IAT Level II Certification
- Cloud certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, SysOps Administrator, Cloud Practitioner)
- Cloud service implementations using industry best practices
- Implementing cloud automation with application deployment
- Hybrid cloud architecture, integration, and deployment
- Ability to lead small, dynamic team to provide strategic and tactical guidance, support, mentorship
- Ability to support Agile project team to prioritize user stories, plan sprints, and execute and deliver as planned
- Ability to maintain workload in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
