About the role

At Lyft, our mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. To create the best ride for all, we start with our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization where all team members are recognized for what they bring.

The Electric Vehicles team at Lyft is responsible for growing EV rides and preparing Lyft for the low-carbon future. We do this by building products that make it easier for drivers to use an EV for rideshare, helping riders make greener choices, and partnering with policymakers to solve some of the biggest barriers to widespread EV adoption. Our work is high impact and high visibility as we both grow EV adoption internally and shape the transition to EVs in the world around us.

We are looking for an Analytics Lead who will become an expert on Lyft’s rideshare, emissions and EV adoption data to shape external conversations on facilitating smart policy for EV growth. You will draw insights which will shape Lyft’s advocacy on external EV adoption programs and regulations, and will lead external reporting efforts on EV progress in cities and states across the country as well as our carbon accounting efforts. You will partner with both the Electric Vehicles team and the Public Policy team at Lyft and meet directly with policymakers where applicable.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical problem solving skills, effective communication skills, extraordinary attention to detail, and proactively takes ownership of their workstreams.  Any past experience with public policy or Electric Vehicles is a plus!

Responsibilities:

  • Become an expert in Lyft rideshare and electric vehicles data as well as regulations, and serve as the primary point of contact for data requests from the policy, legal, enterprise customer, and communications teams
  • Understand internal and external EV adoption data, and use knowledge to work with policymakers and help shape the optimal policy environment for EV adoption
  • Lead analysis and strategy to shape Lyft’s positions in regulatory proceedings and policymaking
  • Manage technical efforts for compliance with various clean air and electric vehicle regulations, as well as intersections with EV regulations and the business
  • Partner closely with Electric Vehicles product teams on identifying opportunities for EV growth
  • Develop and maintain codebase for Lyft’s carbon emissions and fuel economy reporting
  • Lead various sustainability reporting projects including GHG inventory for ESG reporting, CDP, and SBTi validation

Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in management consulting, strategic data science/analytics roles in a technology company, or an equivalent analytical role in a high growth startup
  • Experience in leading high visibility projects and influencing others in a cross-functional team environment
  • Experience in communicating with and presenting to senior leaders and data storytelling
  • Strong ability in building decision making frameworks and data analysis, able to understand business issues, analyze large amounts of data, and draw actionable conclusions
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter - you naturally take ownership, look for opportunities, and do whatever it takes to drive results
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Ability to independently break down large datasets and synthesize inputs from multiple sources
  • Ability to think strategically about complex and unstructured business problems, leading to recommendations and action plans
  • Ability to craft a compelling story and concisely present recommendations across teams and levels including both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to manage, influence, negotiate, and inspire others in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for external stakeholders as well as internal stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Strong product and user experience sense
  • Excellent organization, planning skills, and high attention to detail
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
  • Prior experience with EPA and vehicle emissions data is a nice to have but not required

Benefits:

  • Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • Mental health benefits
  • Family building benefits
  • In addition to 12 observed holidays, salaried team members have unlimited paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off
