BlackRock’s SMA Solutions business is seeking a Separately Managed Account (SMA) Implementation Support Analyst to join our Core PM SMA Team in the Princeton office.  As an Implementation Support Analyst, you will work closely with Portfolio Specialists and Portfolio Managers from the Core PM SMA Team by helping to leverage an evolving operating model at the center of an established and rapidly growing business. Responsibilities:

  • Develop essential knowledge of the Team’s trade modeling and order creation systems.
  • Obtain a robust understanding of internal workflows and the full lifecycle of equity, fixed income, and mutual fund trades across all SMA distribution channels.
  • Handle all Team responsibilities associated with trade allocation routing to external sponsors and custodians.
  • Partner with teammates and internal/external Operations colleagues to troubleshoot and resolve rejected and/or failed allocations, often under tight timeframes.
  • Assist with aggregating incoming client maintenance requests and disseminating to the broader team throughout the day.
  • Handle incoming inquiries, provide professional investment experience, and resolve account- related issues accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide thoughtful ideas and contribute to the streamlining of processes through technology enhancements and automation.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as assigned by Core PM SMA Team Leads.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS is required.
  • Technology skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; additional skills and experience with programming languages such as Python and SQL are desired.

  • Demonstrated experience working both independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Ability to recognize and escalate potential issues to help mitigate operational and reputational risk.
  • Strong process awareness and proven ability to follow established procedures while also demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with trading, implementation, or operations of retail separately managed accounts (SMA’s) is highly preferred.
  • Series 7 and 66 licenses are a plus but not required.

Your learning & development will include:

  • Developing a broad understanding of BlackRock’s SMA product offerings.
  • Understanding of the portfolio trading and rebalancing lifecycle.
  • As a student of the markets, you will have the opportunity to learn how investment and portfolio construction decisions are made and the impact that those decisions have in client portfolios.
