About the Opportunity
The System IT PMO has an immediate opening for a Senior Business Analyst, reporting to Tasha Ford.
Working within the System IT PMO, you will collaborate with others throughout the organization to plan and deliver innovative, integrated, and effective practices in portfolio management and related, neighboring practice areas (ex. Finance, Product Management, Project/Program Management, Data Management etc.). This role leverages the discipline of portfolio management by serving as a member of the portfolio management team assigned to one of the major divisions within National IT.
You will also participate in the development, implementation, adoption and operation of enterprise level Portfolio Management capabilities and processes. These enterprise capabilities are in support of managing technology portfolios of the Federal Reserve System’s Business Lines, Products, Districts and National IT organizations. You will work with Portfolio Management teams throughout the organization in their processes, evolution and delivery of critical innovation, strategic products, and core technology infrastructure investments. You will help advance the maturity and value of portfolio management.
What You Will Do:
- In collaboration with a portfolio manager lead, supports the collective portfolio management engagement for an assigned division or set of technology portfolios.
- Supports the preparation of monthly and quarterly portfolio reviews with division leadership (product groups, BDGs, etc.) and finance partners to validate and assess the portfolio, executing changes and reprioritizing to meet business needs.
- Provides analytics and supports the governance and prioritization of portfolios.
- Reviews, compiles, and analyzes detailed and complex statistics and data for System IT Portfolio issues, providing guidance and collaboration in completing analysis, information, or process mapping, and/or alignment of the business and related areas.
- Contributes to the development of processes/tools. Assess and test of processes, tools, and integration opportunities.
- Key participant in cross-functional team initiatives and process improvement projects.
- Develops and designs critical new business processes and elaborates and updates existing business processes.
- Innovates, develops operations capabilities for new portfolio capabilities.
- Works with the clients and other resources to assess current capabilities, anticipates the high-level customer needs and recommends business process improvements and sustainable solutions, and prioritizes established requirements.
- Supports the Federal Reserve System’s Portfolio Management Community of Practice (CoP).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, with a preferred 4 years’ experience in project management and/or business analysis, majority of which being within a technology area.
- Working knowledge of Project Portfolio Management tools, e.g. Clarity preferred.
- Excellent analytical ability.
- Acute attention to detail with a high level of data integrity and accuracy.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint along with various other online applications.
- Certifications in project management and portfolio management, or willingness to obtain, such as PMP, PfMP, SAFe LPM, or similar desired, but not required.
