Aircraft Cabin Builder

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Position Summary:

This role involves learning to use various woodworking tools, techniques, and materials to create intricate cabinetry and wood-surfaced subassemblies for VIP aircraft completion, under minimal supervision.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Craft high-quality cabinetry, divans, ledges, etc., according to approved procedures.
2. Interpret material specs and engineering drawings to ensure the cabinetry meets design specs, quality standards, and customer expectations.
3. Timely request materials from approved data to maintain workflow.
4. Adhere to regulatory documentation for proper sign-offs and ensure paperwork is completed in line with RSQM and other quality standards.
5. Follow all department safety guidelines and use tools and equipment properly.
6. Understand company installation procedures, process specs, IOPs, etc.
7. Perform other assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED; trade school attendance is a plus.
2. Basic knowledge of the Cabinetry build process in corporate aviation industry completions.
3. Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.

Required Skills and Abilities:

1. Basic knowledge and eagerness to learn all aspects of Cabinetry build process.
2. Willingness to learn RSQM and FAA requirements related to Cabinetry build and installation.
3. Competency in using computers and related software.
4. Openness to learning lean or other continuous improvement techniques.
5. Ability to communicate assertively, professionally, and tactfully.

Work Environment:

The position is based in an aircraft hangar, which may be subject to weather changes and constant exposure to loud noise, potential hazardous waste, heavy machinery, and other safety hazards.

Compensation:

$7 - 10/hr Taxable

$27.75/hr Per Diem

Total Compensation: $35 - $38/hr
