You will join our Environment & Health Division
As our new Air Quality Consultant you will be part of the Air Sciences Group, which is part of Ramboll’s Environment & Health Division. This group consists of people who are passionate about air quality and assisting Ramboll’s clients with their most challenging problems. The Air Sciences Group consults with clients across various industries on a range of topics, including but not limited to emissions estimation, air dispersion modeling, human health risk assessment, climate change, climate action planning, climate adaptation/resiliency, sustainability initiatives, permitting, and compliance.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Estimating emissions and conducting engineering evaluations of air pollution sources
- Researching and evaluating pollution control measures.
- Applying models (e.g., MOVES, EMFAC, GREET) and guidance (e.g., AP-42) to estimate emissions
- Conducting air quality and greenhouse gas analyses under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
- Critically reviewing and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to estimate impacts of projects, construction developments, and operations to local and regional air quality
- Using data analysis skills to process large quantities of data input into technical analysis
- Preparation of detailed spreadsheet work products, presentation slide decks, and reports
- Working as a team to contribute your technical skills to complex projects.

- B.S. or M.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering or science discipline (air quality course work is a plus) with a GPA of 3.5 or higher with a graduation date of May 2023
- 0-3 years of emissions, air quality, or engineering related experience. Relevant graduate academic experience would count towards this
- Strong computing skills including high level use of spreadsheets and word processing
- Strong written/verbal communication, problem-solving and organization skills
- Demonstrated capabilities in understanding, interpreting, and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations
- Demonstrated background in numerical analytical work and data analysis. Programming (e.g., Python), database (e.g., mySQL) and GIS skills are preferred but not required
