After School Program Leader

We are currently seeking committed and passionate Afterschool Linked Day Program Leader to lead academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our BACR School Day, Lunchtime and After School Programs at Hoover Middle School. The After School Linked Day Program Leader must be able to work with up to 20 youths during lunch and after school hours Monday through Friday. The Afterschool Linked Day Program Leader will liaise between school-day teacher’s and after school program staff, daily implementation of lunchtime enrichment programming and will provide regular after school leader duties.

Benefits

• Pay rate of $22-$24/hr DOE
• Full time (32 hours/week): Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday; 11am-7pm; Wednesday; 10am-6pm

Minimum Requirements

• Must have an Associate Degree or higher, or 48 or more college units, or pass the Instructional Aide exam (proctored by BACR)
• Must pass a criminal background check and TB test clearance
• Must be able to work every day during specified working hours & commit to full academic school year
• Must have a general knowledge base of core elementary and middle school subjects
• Must possess strong classroom and behavioral management skills
• Must be able to communicate openly in a professional manner with students, parents, community partners, and after-school and school day-staff

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

• Liaising between school day teachers and after school staff about school day procedures, protocols and teacher's learning styles.
• Daily implementation of lunchtime clubs that assess the needs and wants of the students' interests.
• Provide push-in assistance to teachers that are in your assigned grade level.
• Provide homework and academic support for program participants
• Facilitate and plan academic skill-building activities based on students' skill level and state educational standards
• Give and clearly explain instructions for the assignments given
• Write lesson plans, use learning targets and instructional strategies
• Create, plan, and facilitate engaging enrichment and physical activities for students
• Support students in developing the skills they need to be successful in school and life
• Promote a safe and positive classroom environment
