After School Program Group Leader (Glenview) (SPED Focused)

We are currently seeking an After School Program Group Leader (SPED Focused) who will build and foster learning through play based hands on developmentally appropriate activities for young children at our school sites. This is a great opportunity to step into the field of education and gain experience working in a school setting.

Benefits:

• Pay rate: $23 an hour based on experience and location
• Program Hours Vary by School Site: Monday-Friday
  • Those that work 20 hours or more are eligible for paid BACR holidays during the school year.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate Degree or higher, or 48 or more college units, or pass the Instructional Aide exam
• Familiar with education curriculum, and behavior interventions.
• The ability to commit to a daily set schedule.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and community-building skills
• Some knowledge of Special Education laws, compliance requirements, and program design

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and plan play-based & physical activities curriculum that supports kindergarten and first grade readiness.
• Provides support and advisory to students including those in a special education setting
• Creates a program environment that fosters creativity and excitement.
• Write lesson plans, using learning targets and instructional strategies.
• Promote a safe and positive classroom environment.
• Consult with school day staff to assist in meeting the educational needs of special ed students.
