About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Treasury Senior Manager to lead in executing cross-BSIRRM team initiatives and strategic deliverables as well as manage a team supporting risk, controls, and governance for the BSIRRM function. This role requires nimble deployment of strategic thinking alongside tactical Balance Sheet Forecasting and Interest Rate Risk (IRR) knowledge to drive forward complex initiatives, ad hoc executive requests, and technology transformation efforts. This role will manage a team of analysts with responsibility to own engagements with Regulatory oversight, 1st, 2nd and 3rd line of defense teams, own issue management lifecycle (identification, planning, resolution, tracking and closure), operational risk management through RCSA, and ownership of internal controls framework for BSIRRM.
Treasury at Wells Fargo is a dynamic team that is responsible for managing Wells Fargo's balance sheet including capital, liquidity, funding, and interest rate risk management. Treasury seeks to ensure Wells Fargo always maintains sufficient capital and liquidity resources to support growth in the Company's businesses, while also ensuring a satisfactory financial cushion exists to protect against unforeseen stresses in the economic environment or the Company's operations. Treasury also provides regulators, senior leaders, and the Board of Directors with key information to support risk management, financial performance management, and strategic planning.
The Balance Sheet & Interest Rate Risk (BSIRRM) Group performs quantitative analysis of the balance sheet behavior and has primary responsibility to measure interest rate risk (IRR) and design corresponding risk mitigation strategies, as well as completing and reporting on consolidated balance sheet and net interest income (NII) forecasts. Team members oversee Forecasting and IRR simulation models, provide management with insight concerning changes in balance sheet trends and IRR profile, and contribute to the generation of risk management strategies.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage a team responsible for risk management and governance support in Balance Sheet management (ALM)
- Drive a streamlined, scalable, and aligned operational risk framework that supports strategic priorities
- Lead implementation of complex projects and initiatives
- Support high-impact strategic projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of results that align with BSIRRM’s business objectives
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans and initiatives, ensuring alignment across BSIRRM function
- Monitor and report on progress, risks, and issues, providing regular updates to senior leadership and other stakeholders
- Strengthen and deepen model of collaboration and partnership with second line of defense and third line of defense teams within Wells Fargo
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Conduct regular assessments of processes and internal controls, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes
- Ensure deliverables are completed and compliant with various treasury risk management regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with BSIRRM leader and management team to define and execute critical and strategic initiatives.
- Track progress against key objectives and ensure alignment across department
- Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies, or industry forums
- Participate in industry and peer groups to influence the standard setting process
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Treasury
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
- Cultivate relationships with team members at all levels of the department, ensuring blind spots are identified and surfaced to the management team
- Operate at a tactical, strategic, and operational level, overseeing projects that do not neatly fit within the organizational chart or that fall between departments or leadership areas of responsibility
- Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and maintain high confidentiality
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of Treasury experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience
