The Senior Liability Claim Representation – Construction is responsible for investigating and resolving high exposure and high-risk complex claims while providing a high level of customer service and claim file quality. 

This role operates on a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote) and must sit out of any of the listed office locations.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Duties may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Confirms coverage of claims by reviewing policies and documents submitted in support of claims. 
  • Analyzes coverage and communicates coverage positions, as warranted, under the direction of supervisor and coverage unit. 
  • Conducts, coordinates, and directs investigation into loss facts and the extent of third-party damages. 
  • Directs and monitors assignments to experts and underlying defense counsel. 
  • Evaluates information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of the insured's exposure. 
  • Sets reserves within authority or makes claim recommendations concerning reserve changes to supervisor and client or carrier. 
  • Reports to reinsurers and facilitates the prompt collection of reinsurance on those matters where they are accountable. 
  • Travels to conferences, mediations, and trials as necessary. 
  • Assists with sales presentations and new installation meetings for new clients. 
  • Participate in quarterly client reviews (requires completion of status reports for all open files and many of the quarterly reviews may require in-person attendance at the broker or client’s office). 

This position reports to a line of business Claims Team Leader, Claims Manager, or other more senior claims leader.  

  • Experience with auto, general liability and bodily injury claims
  • Litigation experience
  • Liability licenses in DE, PA, NJ, NY preferred 
  • College degree or equivalent business experience. 
  • Ability to work independently and assimilate learning materials on many different subjects from various sources. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills. 
  • Ability to deal with customers professionally. 
  • Authoritative knowledge of Chubb coverage, products, services, and liabilities. 
  • Ability to be self-motivated and self-start. 
  • Ability to make independent decisions using ESIS Best Practices for guidance. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills. 
  • Capable of dealing with highly visible and demanding customers. 
  • Must be able to effectively work in a team environment. 

Our policy is that an applicable resident or designated home state adjuster’s license must be obtained by ESIS Field Claims Adjusters/Supervisors when it is jurisdictionally required.  Adjusters/Supervisors that do not fulfill the license requirements in the jurisdictions where it is required will not meet ESIS’s employment requirements for handling claims. ESIS supports independent self-study time and will allow up to 4 months to pass the adjuster licensing exam. If an Adjuster/Supervisor does not attain the appropriate license, as determined by ESIS, within 4 months from their ESIS start date, then their employment may be terminated.
