Job Description
The IT organization is recruiting a senior leader for our infrastructure transformation journey!
Western Digital is building an iconic storage company holding 40% of world data stored on our products. Our 10K+ engineers globally play an important role for future of storage technology. The Infrastructure transformation leader role is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining and driving the IT infrastructure modernization to align with the digital transformation journey of the organization.
As an Infrastructure transformation leader you will work closely with Network, Data Center, Cloud, and end user organizations. You will understand the internal architectures and align with the product roadmap to come up with the IT transformation roadmap for the next 3–5-years.
This role reports directly to the VP Infrastructure and Engineering Services within the IT organization at Western Digital. Global Infrastructure and engineering is a group of 165+ full-time team members dispersed globally (with some of the services augmented with contractors). This role will be part of the VP staff, partnering with all the Infrastructure and engineering IT functions in transforming the respective functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build a strong partnership across the Infrastructure and engineering organizations and come up with the transformation roadmap.
- Come up with the best in class network services roadmap in partnership with the network leader.
- Develop and implement an asset lite and cloud first strategy in partnership with Data center and Cloud leaders.
- Needs to have the past experience in working on strategy and execution of observability roadmap for areas across infrastructure.
- Has passion in building and modernizing the IT footprint.
- Be part of the strategic split of Flash and HDD organizations.
Qualifications
- Experience in defining and driving the Infrastructure transformation for large organizations.
- Experience working in a semiconductor environment with an understanding of applications and infrastructures, including HPC (High-Performance Computing).
- 20+ years of progressive experience as a hands-on technical leader in a large technology organization with international work experience
- Embraced and worked as a leader of agile methodology for Cloud and DevOps.
- Experience in leading direct and indirect orgs of 50+ staff.
- Experience successfully managing cross-functional relationships with senior functional leaders.
- Experience driving application rationalization and transformation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop short- and long-term strategies.
- Proven experience in building, developing and engaging a high-performing global team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to influence stakeholders.
- Travel may be required based on needs.
