Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is vital to the ongoing operation of our facility, ensuring all systems and equipment are running at peak efficiency and safety. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a variety of plant systems, including hydraulic systems, conveyors, pneumatic equipment, and electrical controls. The technician will be responsible for responding to system failures by performing or assigning necessary repairs. This position reports to the Plant Manager. Essential Responsibilities: The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping our plant systems and equipment in optimal working condition. Core duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose, repair, and rebuild critical equipment including but not limited to balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front-end loaders and building equipment.
- System Monitoring: Track and manage equipment performance, ensuring all systems are running safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshooting & Emergency Response: Address system failures promptly by executing corrective actions to minimize downtime. Respond to emergency breakdowns with effective solutions.
- Process Improvement: Recommend and implement measures to improve production efficiency, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Plant Manager and Maintenance team to ensure work procedures align with production goals and schedules. Provide feedback and guidance for necessary improvements.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe work area that complies with company and OSHA standards. Follow all safety protocols and Life Critical Rules during maintenance and repairs.
- Inspection & Documentation: Complete Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI), monitor maintenance backlog, and ensure third-party repairs meet quality standards.

Requirements
Key Qualifications:
- Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, with hands-on experience in hydraulic systems, conveyor belts, pneumatic systems, electrical control systems, and motors/gearboxes.
- Preferred Experience: Welding, plant operations, and Yellow Iron (heavy machinery) experience.
- Skills: Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, along with the ability to perform maintenance independently with limited supervision.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as needed to support plant operations.
- Safety Mindset: Strong commitment to safety protocols and adhering to OSHA standards.
