Position Title: RN to BSN Program Coordinator/Title III Grant
Faculty Rank: 10-month, non-tenure track Master Instructor
Missouri Southern State University, having a statewide mission in Health and Life Sciences, recently approved by the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education, is seeking candidates for a 10-month, Master Instructor RN to BSN Program Coordinator/Title III Grant in the Department of Nursing.
This position will begin on September 3rd, 2024 or upon hiring. The Online RN to BSN program is newly revised, and the individual will serve as a coordinator and instructor in the program.
Position Purpose: The Online RN to BSN program coordinator will facilitate advising RN to BSN students and management of the Title III grant objectives/performance indicators, course development, and participation in department shared governance. The typical teaching load is up to 3 to 4 courses in the program each fall and spring semester. Summer teaching load is available based upon enrollment. Evidence of successful teaching in nursing education or a strong potential for successful teaching is required. Preferred experience includes teaching at the baccalaureate or post-licensure baccalaureate level. This position will report directly to the Department of Nursing Chair. The candidate will hold an unencumbered RN license in Missouri or a compact state and has experience and knowledge in nursing education best practices and teaching online.
Essential Job Requirements
Required: Must have earned a Master of Science in nursing degree from an accredited graduate nursing program and possess an unencumbered RN license in the state of Missouri or compact state. A doctorate (DNP, EdD, PhD) in nursing and certification in online teaching and/or nurse educator is preferred.
Experience: Recent nursing curriculum development, course coordination, and teaching experience (classroom, clinical, and online) in one or more of the following specialty areas: Pathophysiology, Advanced Pharmacology, Health Assessment, Population Health, Evidence-based Practice/Innovation in Nursing, Research, and Healthcare Leadership. Demonstrated knowledge of ACEN Accreditation, AACN Essential Competencies, and Grant documentation is preferred.

Current established classroom and online teaching effectiveness in nursing education with a demonstrated commitment to fostering a learning environment supportive of the University and Department Mission, Vision, and Values.

Has a commitment to lifelong learning and successful experience mentoring undergraduate or post-licensure nursing students.

Able to work in a fast-paced course environment with course sessions beginning every 8 weeks.

Able to adapt easily to multiple deadlines, technology, and student needs.

The position will be responsible for advising pre-RN to BSN and current RN to BSN students throughout their plan of study.

The position will be responsible for the enhancement of enrollment efforts, marketing the program, and attending recruitment events.

The position will be responsible for documentation of Title III grant activities, reports, and key performance indicators.

The position will be responsible for documentation of program outcomes and curriculum map.

Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements: Ability to interact with individuals either via technology or in person. Ability to be present via technology or in person during office hours and in class if needed. Ability to demonstrate physical activities as warranted for practicum and residency requirements.
