VP - Technology Operations

This is a remote position.

We are formalizing our technology growth in India by building a Technology Center of Excellence (COE) to support our software businesses across Industrial, Healthcare, Financial Services, Government, Legal and Education .

The VP – Technology Operations will be responsible for:

• Building, growing and managing a team of 60+ engineers over the next 18–24 months
• Driving technology and architecture excellence across multiple product lines ensuring sound design, scalability and enterprise engineering standards
• Setting up core processes, tools and governance frameworks for world-class software delivery and quality
• Ensuring high-quality, reliable and timely delivery for multiple product teams in the US

This role is a path to Site Leader / MD for the India Technology COE as the team scales further to 100+.

Key Responsibilities

People & Organization

• Build and lead high-performance, empowered teams of software engineers, QA, DevOps and tech leads in close partnership with Technology Leaders and the CEO of Embrace.
• Hire and manage Engineering Managers / Group Leads for each vertical (Industrial, Health, Fin, Edu)
• Set up core org structure, role definitions, onboarding and performance management

Delivery & Execution

• Own delivery for India-based teams supporting multiple US product lines
• Plan capacity, allocate teams to portfolios, and track progress against roadmaps
• Run regular cadences: sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and status updates
• Ensure enterprise-grade code quality, testing discipline and stable releases

Process & Governance

• Define and implement modern engineering standards and best practices (including version control, code review, CI/CD, automated testing, release process)
• Establish clear engineering and operational insights (such as velocity, defect leakage, release performance, team capacity) to drive continuous improvement
• Work with US leaders to align SLAs, priorities and agile ways of working that ensure transparency and accountability across teams

Stakeholder Management

• Act as primary India point-of-contact for CTO, Product leaders and Portfolio GMs in the US
• Communicate risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans early
• Coordinate work across multiple portfolios so teams are fully utilized and not overcommitted

Scale-Up / Site Leader Path

• Prepare the COE to grow beyond 50+ engineers (future 100+ team)
• Take gradual ownership of budget, vendor management, and real estate decisions
• Evolve into Site Leader / MD for the India Technology COE as scale and performance targets are met.

Requirements

Must Have

• 15+ years in software development / technology, with at least 5+ years in delivery / engineering leadership roles in India
• Experience managing multi-team delivery (30+ engineers) for international clients or global product teams
• Strong background in B2B soft
