Registration and Database Assistant - ICLRS (part-time 17.5 hours/week)

The International Center for Law and Religion Studies is a global academic leader in the field of international religious freedom. Founded in 2000, the Center is part of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, one of the largest private universities in the United States. The Center’s mission is to “help secure the blessings of religious liberty for all,” through scholarship, networking, educational activities, and law reform efforts.

Scholars at the International Center for Law and Religion Studies specialize in comparative and international law concerning religion. The Center partners with leading academic, governmental, and non-governmental institutions around the world to organize conferences and workshops. The purpose of these conferences is to foster respectful understanding and improve expertise at the critical intersection where law and religion meet.

WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS POSITION

The Registration and Database Assistant is responsible for setting up events in the database and creating registration forms as needed for various conferences, for the International Center for Law and Religion Studies, in the BYU Law School. It also includes receiving online registrations, processing them, following up with registrants as needed, making sure that all the information we need has been received in time to meet various deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Database Management

  • Quickly learn and become proficient in the Center’s proprietary database system.

  • Build and maintain event records in the database for all Center-sponsored events.

Event Registration

  • Learn and manage the full registration process for various conferences and events.

  • Build custom registration forms tailored to the needs of each event.

  • Ensure registration forms are properly synced with the event build in the database.

  • Track and monitor incoming registrations, ensuring timely receipt of all required information.

  • Follow up with registrants to collect missing details or confirm participation.

  • Run reports and provide updates as needed to Center staff.

  • Ensure that all registrants are verified invitees.

  • Identify opportunities for improving registration forms, processes, and reporting tools.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendee and contact records
