Job description

We are seeking an experienced Vulnerability and Threat Management Analyst that will help shape the program and develop automation and orchestration to improve efficiency. The Vulnerability and Threat Analyst focuses on identifying, scanning for, and remedying security vulnerabilities in Biogen’s systems and networks. They perform ongoing vulnerability scans, analyze results and coordinate with IT and business teams to ensure the security of the organization's assets and data. In addition to looking for and reporting on vulnerabilities, this analyst will work with the Threat Hunting and Cyber Intel teams to help focus their activities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans to identify security gaps and potential threats
  • Analyze scan results and providing recommendations for remediation
  • Support and collaborate with multiple teams including NOC, OCC, Security Engineering, IAM, Incident Response, as well as IT and business teams to prioritize and implement remediation actions
  • Monitor and track progress of remediation efforts
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure vulnerability scans align with overall security strategies and initiatives
  • Communicate findings and remediation plans to senior management and stakeholders
  • Keep current with emerging security risks and trends and incorporating into scanning and remediation processes.
  • Establish and maintain operational SOPs in support of VTM mission objectives
  • Create specialized dashboards, reports, alerts
  • Develop incident metric program and global incident reporting
  • Collaborate with client technical teams for issue resolution and mitigation

  • Possess a strong service mindset and experience manager of manager with demonstrated track record of building high preforming teams. 
  • Strong knowledge base across industry standard frameworks (NIST, ISO, PCI)
  • Results-driven individual who can manage multiple complex assignments, manage assignments based on criticality, in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to manage expectations with multiple stakeholders on projects and programs in conjunction with information security teams
  • Demonstrated personal integrity, the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and exhibit the appropriate level of judgment and decision making commensurate with the position and responsibilities
  • Deep understanding of measurement and the key performance indicators for successful operations center environments
  • Outstanding communication capabilities, written and oral, with an emphasis on prompt, transparent and appropriate targeting for incident related notifications

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as cybersecurity, computer science, or information systems
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on vulnerability scanning, coordination and remediation.
  • Broad information cybersecurity knowledge, including familiarity with common attack methodologies, tactics and protocols, Advance Persistent Threat groups, Hacker activities and demonstrated leadership multi-national large scale cyber breaches and complex cyber investigations.
  • Knowledge of security technologies, tools and methodologies, as well as industry certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Vulnerability Assessor (CVA) are also beneficial.
  • Good understanding of AWS, Cloud platform and DevOps
  • Data-driven decisions making based on Key Performance and Key Risk Indicators
  • Experience with Multi-National / cross boarder operations

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as cybersecurity, computer science, or information systems
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on vulnerability scanning, coordination and remediation.
