Job Description

We are looking for an IT Project Manager to lead and deliver technology projects from initiation through closure, ensuring successful execution within defined scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives. The Project Manager will collaborate with sponsors, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive project success while adhering to established project management methodologies and governance standards. This position will be a contract and remote.

What You'll Do

  • Manage projects from initiation through closure, ensuring delivery within approved timelines, budgets, and scope

  • Partner with project sponsors and stakeholders to develop project charters, define objectives, deliverables, resource requirements, budgets, and schedules

  • Monitor and manage project plans, risks, issues, dependencies, resources, and change requests

  • Communicate project status, milestones, risks, and key decisions to stakeholders, PMOs, and steering committees

  • Coordinate project resources and negotiate staffing needs with functional managers as required

  • Ensure all project deliverables and documentation comply with established project management standards and governance requirements

  • Facilitate risk identification, mitigation planning, issue resolution, and change management processes

  • Track project financials, resource allocations, forecasts, and recovery plans across fiscal periods

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define, measure, and realize project benefits and business value

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through lessons learned, process enhancements, and project management best practices

  • Lead project closeout activities, including project summaries, presentations, and closure reviews with leadership teams

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive professional experience in project management

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects through the full project lifecycle

  • Experience developing project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource allocations

  • Strong knowledge of project governance, risk management, issue management, and change control processes

  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Planisware, or similar platforms

  • Knowledge of software development methodologies including Agile and Waterfall

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and leadership skills

Preferred:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification

  • Scrum Master certification

  • Experience working in technology, software development, or digital engineering environments

  • Experience participating in PMO initiatives, process improvement efforts, and project governance programs

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
