Product Manager, Internal Tools | The Points Guy

This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based in our New York City Office (Tuesday through Thursday) and work fully remotely on Mondays and Fridays each week.
The Product Manager owns the success of a specific product area or surface, leading cross-functional pods to deliver user-centered, high-impact solutions.
The Product Manager for Internal Tools owns the success of platforms that power how The Points Guy creates, manages, and optimizes content. This role focuses on our CMS and related internal systems used by editorial, SEO, partnerships, and operations teams.
This role is responsible for defining problems, prioritizing work, and making trade-offs to ensure the team builds the right things at the right time. You will lead cross functional pods to deliver reliable, scalable, and user centered tools that improve editorial velocity, content quality, and operational efficiency. Product Managers partner closely with Engineering, Design, UX Research, Data, and to drive measurable outcomes across engagement, revenue, and user satisfaction.
Product Managers are decision-makers and outcome owners — accountable for what ships and how it performs.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for an assigned product area.
- Define problems to solve by synthesizing user insights, data, business goals, and technical constraints.
- Lead a cross-functional pod (PM, Engineering, Product Design) with shared accountability for product outcomes.
- Write clear product requirements and success metrics for features and initiatives.
- Make prioritization and scope trade-offs to balance impact, speed, and quality.
- Partner with UX Research and Design to validate assumptions and ensure strong user experiences.
- Work with Data/Analytics to define KPIs, measure performance, and iterate based on results.
- Communicate progress, risks, and results clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
- Partner closely with Editorial, SEO, Partnerships, and Operations stakeholders to understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities for leverage.
- Advocate for platform quality, documentation, and operational excellence across the product lifecycle.
What We’re Looking For:
- 4–7+ years of experience in Product Management or related roles.
- Experience building internal tools, platforms, or CMS products is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience delivering digital products in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong problem-framing, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
- Comfort working with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
- Ability to collaborate deeply with Engineering, Design, and Data partners.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with Engineering on technically complex systems.
- Experience working in media, content, or marketplace driven businesses is a plus.
Compensation:
This range reflects total cash compensation, which may include base salary only or base salary plus target bonus, depending on the role. Where eligible, equity may also be offered separately and not included below. Actual compensation varies based on location, experience, and qualifications.
- New York City Total Cash Compensation Range: $150,000 - $240,000 per year
