About the Role

Join us as a Senior Search Engineer and be at the heart of building something game-changing. As a key member of our small, collaborative team, you’ll take ownership of critical search initiatives, serving as our go-to expert in search engineering. What You Will Do

Build and deploy search-centric systems with a focus on: 

• Relevance-based ranking and result optimization for search engines

• Intelligent query understanding, including expansion and correction

• Efficient indexing techniques for large-scale data

• Develop and maintain custom Java Solr plugin

• Implementation of scalable, distributed search systems

• Integration of search technologies like Solr, Elasticsearch, or Lucene  with data storage solutions

• Implementation of performance monitoring and tuning strategies for search system optimization

What You Must Have

• About 5-8 years of experience of Search Engineering experience

• Proven track record of success in implementing search algorithms and working with large-scale search infrastructure

• In-depth knowledge of information retrieval concepts (e.g., indexing, ranking algorithms, query parsing, relevance models)

• Proficient in backend languages including Java and Python (required)

• Experience with large-scale distributed systems, and their scaling

• Familiarity with integrating search technologies into complex backend systems and optimizing for performance

• Knowledge of ML, DL, NLP, LLMs, query intent identification, and ranking optimization is a plus

• A team-first mindset, where you're willing to set aside exciting ideas to support key projects and help the team achieve greater success together

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Retrieval, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

Pay Transparency

• Base Salary: The initial OTE for this role is estimated to range from $170,000 -$190,000.

• Salary Structure: Our salary ranges are determined by market analysis and are designed to evolve with job performance over time.
